8:00 AM -10:00 AM Mysore A personalized form of learning and teaching the Ashtanga Yoga system. Instruction is customized to where the student is regarding factors such as physical health, age, strength, flexibility, endurance and balance are taken into consideration. Mysore classes differs from private instruction in the ratio of students to teacher. In Mysore class, you will learn and practice the method of Ashtanga Yoga in a dedicated space for Mysore classes. You’ll join other students learning to cultivate the skill of self-practice and grasp specific details of the Ashtanga System. Saturday
10:30 AM - 12:30 PM Digging Deep into Backbends: Spend the afternoon with Krista digging deep into your waist, your back and your heart. Understanding the emotional and physiological connection to back-bending can help you infinitely deepen your physical understanding of back-bending. Utilizing various back bends from the Ashtanga series’ we will explore the use of the waist, the heart and the spine in back bends and look into how emotions help or hinder our growth. Leave this session with a new found love of back bends, a new appreciation of our own ‘perceived’ limitations, and tools to take your practice to a new level. Suitable for all levels. 2 hours. $60 Saturday
2 - 4 PM The Science of Meditation - Lecture, Pranayama and Guided Meditation: In this session we will explore the beautiful brain! We will create a greater model for understanding meditation by examining the science - the different states of human consciousness from beta, delta, gamma and theta and how to access these states of consciousness through dedicated breath work, concentration and effort. We will also explore how the brain works as we move from through these different states of consciousness during meditation. Then Krista will introduce us to some breathing techniques that help prepare us for meditative practices and more specifically tap the pineal glad, which controls all of the different states of consciousness. From there Krista will talk us through a guided meditation so we can experience this new model of understanding in action. 2 hrs. |
