The Yoga Shala offers monthly workshops designed to help students deepen their understanding and experience of Ashtanga Yoga. Each workshop provides an opportunity to explore key elements of the practice, refine techniques, and expand your knowledge in a supportive, hands-on environment. The Yoga Shala's Ashtanga focused workshops are led by Krista Shirley, a Level II Authorized Ashtanga Yoga Instructor and owner of The Yoga Shala. Whether you're new to Ashtanga or an experienced practitioner, our monthly workshops offer personalized guidance to enhance your practice and foster growth on and off the mat.

Mysore Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga offers a unique and personalized approach to your practice. In this self-led class, you move through the Ashtanga series at your own pace, receiving one-on-one guidance and adjustments from an experienced teacher. Whether you're a beginner learning the sequence or an advanced practitioner deepening your practice, Mysore style allows you to grow and evolve at your own level. The individualized instruction ensures that you receive the support you need, while the communal energy of the class inspires and motivates. Build strength, flexibility, and focus in this traditional method of practice, where consistency is key and progress unfolds naturally. Suitable for all levels.

Digging Deep into Backbends Spend the afternoon with Krista digging deep into your waist, your back and your heart. Understanding the emotional and physiological connection to back-bending can help you infinitely deepen your physical understanding of back-bending.
Utilizing various back bends from the Ashtanga series’ we will explore the use of the waist, the heart and the spine in back bends and look into how emotions help or hinder our growth. Leave this session with a new found love of back bends, a new appreciation of our own ‘perceived’ limitations, and tools to take your practice to a new level. Suitable for all levels. |

Pranayama Learn how to integrate breathwork into your daily life to enhance your mood, physical well-being, and yoga practice.
Gain a deeper understanding of your breath, the most vital process in the body and the key to unlocking all aspects of human experience. Learn how to harness the power of prana (energy) by developing control over your breath. Practice techniques to calm and quiet the mind and body, culminating in a guided seated meditation session. Through consistent pranayama practice, you'll discover how breathwork can serve as a gateway to greater control over your body, mind, and soul. This session is suitable for all levels and offers tools for both new and experienced practitioners. |
