Ashtanga Yoga Workshop

The Yoga Shala offers monthly workshops designed to help students deepen their understanding and experience of Ashtanga Yoga. Each workshop provides an opportunity to explore key elements of the practice, refine techniques, and expand your knowledge in a supportive, hands-on environment. The Yoga Shala's Ashtanga focused workshops are led by Krista Shirley, a Level II Authorized Ashtanga Yoga Instructor and owner of The Yoga Shala. Whether you're new to Ashtanga or an experienced practitioner, our monthly workshops offer personalized guidance to enhance your practice and foster growth on and off the mat.

Mysore Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga class offers a unique and personalized approach to your practice. In this class, Krista will provide one-on-one guidance and adjustments as you move through the Ashtanga series at your own pace.
Whether you're a beginner learning the sequence or an advanced practitioner deepening your practice, Mysore style allows you to grow and evolve at your own level. |
10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Milestones of the Primary Series Spend the afternoon with Krista breaking down the asanas of the Primary Series. Learn the correct form and purpose of each posture in the series. Students will also learn lots of tips on how to work toward mastery of difficult postures such as Marichyasana B and D, Bhujapidasana, and Supta Kurmasana. This session is educational and eye-opening for students of all levels. Includes chanting.

The Healing Core: Rebuilding Deep Strength from the Inside out. This is not a crunch class. Learn how to connect with your true deep core — the diaphragm, pelvic floor, transverse abdominis, and multifidus — and use it to support your spine, breath, and balance. Krista will guide you through body mechanics, breath-centered work, and intentional movement to rebuild your strength gently, intelligently, and for the long haul.
